Inspired by Celine from Nyx Book Reviews, I've decided to combine several weekly wrap-up memes into one post. Showcase Sunday is hosted by Vicky at Books, Biscuits and Tea. Stacking the Shelves is hosted at Tynga's Reviews, and Sunday Post is hosted at Kimba the Caffeinated Book Reviewer. Letterbox Love is a special British book-haul meme hosted by Lindsey at Narratively Speaking.
Last Week:
My husband had some time off work this week so we visited Nottingham castle. Of course, it chucked it down with rain all day, but it was still a lot of fun, particularly the cave walk. John's also decided to take on a little project for me. He wants to make me an afternoon tea stand - you know, those 3 tier stands that you put little cakes and scones and triangular sandwiches on. So he's searching the charity shops for a big plate, a middle plate and a teeny plate with fancy patterns on, and then he's going to drill holes in the middle and attach them together into a stand. Or that's the idea anyway. Can't wait to see what it turns out like!
Last week's posts:
Book Review - The Night Circus, by Erin Morgenstern
Book Review - Poison, by Sarah Pinborough
Remembering Jack Vance
Stephen King's Joyland and the Hollywood Girls

And... I forgot to show this last week, but I'm pretty excited about it.
This is a movie I adored when I was younger, but for a long time it
was only available on Region 1. Now I finally have a copy! :-D
Hope you've had a great week! What are you reading in this lovely weather?
Nice haul of books, they're all on my wishlist apart from The Traitor Game which I've read - and enjoyed! Happy reading :)
ReplyDeleteMy Haul!
Ooh glad you enjoyed it! Thanks :-)
DeleteNice haul! The Humans looks like it would be a really interesting read. Also, side note: you're playing Deus Ex! Looks like I really good game, though I never managed to finish myself eek!! My boyfriend love it though.
ReplyDeleteHope you enjoy your books! :)

My Haul!
Hehe yeah, I think I'm almost at the end of Deus Ex now. It's funny playing games compared to reading, as with games you're never quite sure how far you are from finishing, but you always know with a book. Enjoying it a lot at the moment, glad to hear your boyfriend did too! :-D
DeleteI'm reading The Humans at the moment and really like it so far, keep chuckling out loud and getting odd looks from my husband! ^^
Yay, thanks for the follow! :-D
I can't wait to read The Rithmatist :)
ReplyDeleteMy Showcase Sunday
I'm really looking forward to it as well. Looks so good! :-)
DeleteI wonder if "The Traitor Game" is similar to "The Hunger Games." Whether it is or not, I found the cover and the title quite intriguing, something I would like to read as well. Hopping here from Showcase Sunday.
ReplyDeleteI think it's much more fantasy, alongside modern life... not sure actually, but it does look intriguing! :-)
DeleteGreat new books! Enjoy! Here's a peek at some of the books I added to my collection this past week:

ReplyDeleteThanks! The Rithmatist looks really good doesn't it? :-)
DeleteOh I love the idea of an afternoon tea stand! How very awesome!
ReplyDeleteAnd that movie looks adorable, how come I never heard of it? :o
I'm quite excited to see what it will look like! Oooh it's such a good movie, I think you'd love it! Or maybe not... I can't tell what's just childhood nostalgia talking anymore! ^^ It's kinda 80's-movie-cheesy, with some funny characters and some genuinely funny bits, and an awesome villain. And some great music too. If you ever get the chance, defo give it a watch! :-)
DeleteNice haul. I am really curious about Playing Tyler. Enjoy your new books. :)
