Inspired by Celine from Nyx Book Reviews, I've decided to combine several weekly wrap-up memes into one post. Showcase Sunday is hosted by Vicky at Books, Biscuits and Tea. Stacking the Shelves is hosted at Tynga's Reviews, and Sunday Post is hosted at Kimba the Caffeinated Book Reviewer. Letterbox Love is a special British book-haul meme hosted by Lindsey at Narratively Speaking.
Last Week:
Yesterday I went to Edge Lit, a science fiction, fantasy and horror convention in Derby. It's a small, one-day event, and a lot of fun! Met and saw some lovely people, and came home with a lot of books, some bought and some freebies. :-) Will do a longer con report soon.
Last Week's Posts:
Book Review - The Rithmatist, by Brandon Sanderson
Guest Post - Author James Everington: Revisiting the Witches
New Goodies:
Edge Lit goodies!
Dead Bad Things, by Gary McMahon
Hard Spell, by Justin Gustainis
Roil, by Trent Jamieson
Boneshaker, by Cherie Priest
Noir Carnival, edited by K.A. Laity
Piracy, A Fox Pockets Anthology, edited by Adele Wearing
and a Fox Spirit badge!
How was your week? Have you been enjoying the sun? :-)
Sounds like you had fun. I liked Hard Spell by Justin Gustainis. I hope you do too. If you get a chance, come see what I got this week at Ms. Martin Teaches Media and Inside of a Dog. Happy reading!
ReplyDeleteThanks Kathy! :-) Hard Spell does look good.
DeleteOoh, Edge Lit sounds awesome! I hope you had a great time :D
ReplyDeleteRoil & Boneshaker both sounds really good!
I hope you enjoy them all :)
Thanks Samantha! I've been wanting to read Boneshaker for a while, so very pleased with that one in particular!
DeleteThat sounds like fun. We don't really have anything like that around where I live. Looks like you got some good books from it too!

They're so much fun if you can get to one. I'm really lucky that I have EdgeLit so close, usually have to travel much further!
DeleteEdge Lit looked so appealing...if they turn it into an annual thing I might make the trip next year. Will be good to see my old stomping grounds! I love the Fox Spirit covers, may be tempted to get one....maybe when I've finally caught up on my short story reading.
ReplyDeleteEdge Lit is one of the best, really friendly and as relaxed or packed as you want it to be. I'm pretty sure it's going to be a regular thing. It's definitely on for next year anyway. Let me know if you do decide to go to the next one! :-)
DeleteFox Spirit do have some great covers. I really enjoyed The Nun and Dragon, so I'm looking forward to these!
You picked up some great ones. Happy reading. Enjoy your Sunday!
